Regular detergent is great at one thing. Wrecking technical kit.

Grangers Performance Wash is a proper cleaner for waterproof and technical clothing, designed to remove dirt, sweat and odours without clogging membranes or stripping performance. If your jacket’s stopped breathing or wets out in the rain or snow, this is where you start.

Unlike normal laundry detergent, Performance Wash doesn’t leave behind residues that block breathability. It gently cleans the fabric, helps maintain any remaining water repellency, and gets your kit back to how it’s supposed to feel. Warm when it should be warm, dry when it should be dry, and not smelling like the bottom of a ski bag.

The latest formula is concentrated, giving you up to 12 washes per bottle using just half a cap, regardless of whether you’ve got hard or soft water at home. It’s also bluesign® approved, PFC-free, and comes in a 100% post-consumer recycled bottle, so it’s kinder to both your gear and the mountains you use it in.

Performance Wash is also the essential first step before reproofing. If you apply a waterproofing treatment to dirty fabric, it won’t bond properly and it won’t last. Clean first, then reproof, and your jacket will actually bead again instead of soaking up water.

If you own technical kit, this isn’t optional. It’s just the right way to wash it.

How To Use

Performance Wash

  1. Shake before use.
  2. Pour half a cap (100ml bottle: 25ml per wash) into the detergent drawer of your washing machine.
  3. Wash on a full cycle at 30°C/86°F, or follow garment care instructions.
  4. Let your gear dry naturally or according to the care label.

Tip: Always clean your gear before reproofing — dirty fabrics reduce waterproofing effectiveness.

Clothing Repel (Wash-In)

  1. Add the recommended amount to the washing machine drawer (100ml per garment, 50ml per additional item).
  2. Wash as normal, following garment care instructions.
  3. Allow to dry naturally.

Tip: Keep a small bottle as your “emergency waterproofing” for trips or last-minute touch-ups.

Performance Repel Plus (Spray-On)

  1. Shake well before use.
  2. Spray evenly over the clean, dry surface of your outerwear.
  3. Allow to dry completely before use.

Tip: Ideal for high-wear areas or quick on-the-go waterproofing.

Active Wash

  1. Shake the bottle before use.
  2. Pour 30ml (one capful) into the detergent drawer of your washing machine.
  3. Wash at 30°C/86°F or as per the care label.
  4. Allow to dry naturally or following garment instructions.

Tip: Perfect for base layers, midlayers, and activewear that get sweaty — keeps odours at bay while protecting the fabric.

Merino Wash

  1. Shake before use.
  2. Pour 30ml into the detergent drawer.
  3. Wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C/86°F or according to care instructions.
  4. Let your Merino items dry naturally — never tumble dry.

Tip: Cedar extract helps protect against moths and keeps wool layers smelling fresh.

Odour Eliminator

  1. Remove insoles if applying to footwear.
  2. Spray directly onto the fabric you wish to refresh.
  3. Allow to dry completely before use.

Tip: Ideal for kit that can’t be machine washed — trainers, ski and snowboard boot liners, gloves, helmets, or gym bags.

Gear & Luggage Cleaner

  1. Use a sponge or soft cloth to apply directly to the surface of your bag or gear.
  2. Work the cleaner into dirt and grime, then rinse or wipe off residues.
  3. Allow to dry naturally before using or applying any protective treatments.

Tip: Cleaning your luggage or travel bags first makes waterproofing sprays and treatments far more effective.
